Hate is in the air

People love to hate. They love to pick at every single thing someone does. They love to find a flaw and bash it relentlessly.  People hide behind the computer and say things they would never dream of saying to someone's face.  I have been guilty of this myself. I don't claim to be perfect or above getting swept up in the chaos.

But there are some who make it there life's work to be mean and ugly to people they have never met.  And even then some of those people will meet their victim and be as nice as pie to them. Bend over backwards to have them be a "friend".

Some might ask what this all about. What in the heck is she talking about. Some already know what I am referring to and might have the same opinion others may not.

For those who have no idea what I am talking about it is Big Brother.  The show I can't wait to spend my summer watching and talking about.   The show that always brings out debate about its "hamsters". The show that started as a social experiment but has turned into something else.

There are blogs dedicated to Big Brother, there are Facebook pages, Twitter accounts. They all give updates, some "write" play by play, minute by minute everything that happens in the house.  Some blogs are very impartial, some not some much. There are are those that interject fun commentary and some who jab and bash.  Some of my former favorite places have turned into bash sites, dishing out hate both in updates and comments from the peanut gallery.(some even plotting to keep up the bashing after the show is over) Even the only place available to watch the 24/7 goings on in the house has turned into a place to bash and hate on people. Yet these are all the very people who will be kissing the feet of those they have deemed less than human to get an interview, an autograph, a "friendship" when the season is over. Telling them how much they love them and admire them for what they did in the "game" and not to pay any mind to what has been said by them and others.

Former hamsters who were subjected to the same ridicule and bashing during their tenure in the house have decided it is ok to do the very thing that made the unhappy to hear was said about them. You would think those people more than anyone else would understand the need to be kind.

I guess my point here is that a show I love has been tainted by those who also claim to love it. It isn't fun to see people be bashed for looking in a mirror, sitting beside someone, or even breathing for that matter.  This has truly become "don't hate the player, hate the game".......and those who watch it.

RIP Grandpa

I'm gonna walk with my grandaddy, and he'll match me step for step, and I'll tell him how I missed him, every minute since he left. Then I'll hug his neck.
